John Chappell stars in this hilarious recreation of Mark Twain himself, in all his wit and wisdom, as you might have seen him 100 years ago. Mark Twain’s stinging commentaries on the human race, politics, slavery, lying, religion and life are stunningly fresh and blazingly funny. Audiences will laugh at his tall stories, move from laughter to poignant reflection, occasionally squirming at his savage irony all the while being captivated by a perfect illusion of the living presence of the man himself. In look, in drawling voice, appearance, gesture, and in his own immortal words, the creator of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn lives again in this intimate, one-man show.

When not disguised as Mark Twain John Chappell is apt to be found on the set of a Hollywood movie wearing yet another face...his own. He co-starred with Cabe Kaplan in "Fast Break" and in the Peter Bogdanovich film "Nickelodeon'1 His other appearances include "Brubaker",'The Other Side of Midnight", "Buster and Billie", "The Hard Country'i and the hit comedy "10". His latest film "l Was A Teenage Vampire". Television roles have had Chappell on both sides of the law and in between. He has been a lawmaker ("Tailgunner Joe"), a succession of lawbreakers from burglar ("Hawaii FiveO") to counterfeiter ("The Rockford Files"), several lawmen and judges ("The Trial of Lee Harvey Oswald"), and, of course, a Baptist preacher ("WKRP in Cincinnati"). The current season features John on such episodes of ("Matlock"), ("Sidekicks"), ("scarecrow and Mrs. King") and ("Nine To Five'). Perhaps his best known character however, was that of Mike DeAngelo in the series ('After Mash") - a co-starring role. John Chappell has gathered his share of rewards from his work. He is a Kentucky Colonel. His alma mater, Wake Fore$t University, proclaimed him a Distinguished Craduate. A good many of his appearances are return engagements, some for the sixth and seventh time. When not marrauding the public he can be found either in Pinebluff, N. Carolina, in the foothills of Hollywood, California, or cruising the Royal Viking Lines making occasional appearances as Mr. Twain. He no longer keeps a cat.
